Posted by community · 47d ago · 92 replies
Planning a trip pero tipid-tipid ang budget? Here's the full guide I wish I had when I started:
FLIGHTS — How to get cheapest fares
• Set Google Flights alerts for your route
• Book Cebu Pacific and AirAsia promos 3-4 months ahead
• Tuesday/Wednesday flights are usually ₱200-500 cheaper
• Use Cebu Pacific app — has exclusive app deals
Current best deals (May 2026):
• Manila–Cebu from ₱599 (Cebu Pacific seat sale)
• Manila–Boracay from ₱799 (via Kalibo)
• Manila–Davao from ₱699
ACCOMMODATION — Budget options
• CouchSurfing.com — free homestays with locals
• Hostelworld — dormitory beds from ₱350/night
• Airbnb — better for groups (split rent = cheap per person)
• Facebook groups for "room for rent" in your destination
FOOD — Eat like a local
• Carinderias/turo-turo: ₱80-120 for complete meal with rice
• 7-Eleven: ₱35 coffee, ₱25 hot pandesal = ₱60 breakfast
• Palengke/wet market: fresh fruits way cheaper than malls
TRANSPORT
• Jeepney: ₱13 base fare (cheapest in the world!)
• E-Jeep/UV Express: ₱15-30 for longer routes
• Grab: use promo codes, cheaper than taxi
My ₱3,000 Cebu weekend itinerary:
• Flight (roundtrip promo): ₱1,200
• Hostel (2 nights): ₱700
• Food (2 days): ₱600
• Transport/activities: ₱500
Total: ₱3,000 for a full Cebu weekend! Possible kung maging matalino sa pagpili.
